Learning Objectives: The second of a two-course laboratory-based earth science sequence designed for preservice elementary and middle school teachers. The intent of this course is to acquaint future teachers with the important concepts of earth science, and to provice the basic tools of independent, creative inquiry that teachers can take into the classroom. Emphasis will be given to study of the geology of Earth. This course will explore the practice of science by incorporating inquiry-based activities into the pedagogy. This course is specifically designed to transfer to Western Michigan University's Elementary Education program and may not transfer to other institutions.
