CIS 170 - UNIX/LINUX OPERATING SYSTEMS
170 UNIX/LINUX OPERATING SYSTEMS SPRING FEE 3 (3-0) An introductory course that will introduce students to the basic concepts of the UNIX/Linux operating system. Topics include essential UNIX/Linux commands, login and logout sequences, setting passwords, e-mail, fundamentals of the vi editor, piping and redirection, security and process control, the Kernel, file system, shell programming, X windows, and basic system administration. Shell scripts will also be covered. This course is aligned with Linux+ / LPIC 1 certification. Prerequisites: CIS 106
